Designing the Future with Lamborghini’s Mitja Borkert at MDC Milan: From Sketch to Stunning in the Depix Design Lab

Last week in Milan, the energy was electric at the Mobility Design Conference, hosted by Konzepthaus as part of their HOA series. The day’s theme — Designing the Future — couldn’t have played out more vividly than at the Depix.ai stand, where we had the honor of welcoming Mitja Borkert, Design Director and Head of Design Strategy at Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.

Mitja, a legend in the world of automotive design, took a few moments out of a packed schedule to sit down with us — iPad in hand — and casually sketch a sleek side view of a Lamborghini. As you might expect, the strokes were effortless, instantly recognizable, and oozed performance and style.

But that was just the beginning.

With the eyes of the conference on us, we fed Mitja’s raw sketch into our Depix Design Lab, where our AI tools, Style Drive and Scene Shift, brought his drawing to life. In seconds, the crowd watched as the sketch evolved into high-quality, photorealistic renderings — infused with mood, lighting, and material details, all guided by Mitja’s unique design DNA.

From Sketch to Depix and full realization in many color ways and scenarios

It was more than a demo — it was a glimpse into the future of design workflows, where creativity and machine learning combine seamlessly to accelerate the journey from vision to visualization.

Mitja’s visit was a reminder of why we’re building Depix: to empower designers, not replace them — to supercharge imagination, not constrain it.

And here's a shot that captured the moment: Mitja Borkert (center), flanked by Christian Braun (left) and our CEO, Philip Lunn (right), just after the render reveal. A moment of smiles, shared vision, and the thrill of what’s possible.

Thank you to everyone who dropped by, and especially to Mitja for bringing a spark of Lamborghini magic to the Depix booth.
